For my latest life drawing assignment I was to draw myself… Fun fun fun….. Not. I had never done a true self portrait, well never a photorealistic one, so I was dreading this assignment since its conception. It was bad enough that I had to pose for a picture, but then I had to recreate it on an 18″ by 24″ piece of paper!? Utter hell. Not to mention the entire thing had to be done in CHARCOAL… But I was/am being so dramatic. Self portraits are a natural occurrence in the world of art and I’m actually fairly glad I got the opportunity to create one! So without further ado, my self portrait (drum roll):
